Favorite P2P Programs

June 5th, 2010 No comments

In todays computer world everythings about sharing, and how you do it. One of the most common ways is through the use torrents and a peer to peer program. one of my favorates peer to peer programs is bittcommet.the biggest reason why i like bittcommett is simple the more you share the faster your download.they give you points for every mb you upload and for just being online the more points, the more peers your are able to connect to. which in turn equals faster downloads, by combineing this with emule (a plug in which searchs for long term seeders) you are assured faster results when it comes to downloading. now for the down side the rateing system for bittcommett takes a long time to build up almost three years if you were to get the maxium amount of points daily. but if your like me and love to download free stuff then im sure that you’ll be useing this program three years down the road and if you have another peer to peer program that you use such as limewire or utorrent then you should switch just for the use of emule.

The iPad is a fantastic new device

June 4th, 2010 No comments

The iPad is a fantastic new device. It is apples newest innovative piece of technology. It is just like the old iTouch except it has a 9.7 inch screen and can run different applications. Also, apple added a new store specifically for the iPad, made completely with different e-books made by different authors. Different models can have anywhere from 16 gb to 32 gb of flash storage. The new iPad also has a much sleeker look than the iTouch or iphone. The iPad should be thought of less as a phone or music player and more of a smaller, more compact, touchscreen “Laptop”. After many uses of the iPad, I can defiantly say that the iPad is a must get for people looking for something other than a laptop. Various members of the Apple team have announced that there will be specific applications for the iPad. In three years, I can confidently say that 40% of all middle class/upper class Americans will have some form of an iPad in at least 3 years.

The ipad is a great new gadget to tool around with!

May 29th, 2010 No comments

The ipad is a great new gadget to tool around with in the Apple store – it is fun to spend a few minutes browsing the internet, rotating it and watching the screen rotate to match it, watching movies, typing and playing games on the touch screen. But is it really worth it? Is it more than just an oversized ipod touch? Many people seem to think so, as ipads fly off the shelf and become increasingly popular, both with adult consumers and a younger market. Apple is truly a brilliant company for creating a product with so much buzz around it, so much hype talking it up and making people want it more and more, and such universal appeal, regardless of age, gender, class – everyone wants one. Should you buy it, then? Do consumers grab up all of the ipads that they can get their hands on simply because everyone else is? Is it a matter of hype, great advertising campaigns, and the bandwagon effect? Or is this a product that everyone really cannot live without. I suggest you go to the Apple store and see for yourself. But take a long hard look at the ipod touch before pulling out your wallet.

HP vs Mac The Old Debate Continued

May 28th, 2010 No comments

Many people don’t really care which computer company they buy from so long as they get the best price. There may be some that know the tricks of the trade and have a favorite, but many just buy whatever happens to be on mark-down. This may not be wise. To explain why, let me tell you about something that happened to a consumer. He bought HP because it was cheaper than Mac, as so many people would. When nothing goes wrong with your computer that’s fine, but just 88 days after his warranty expired his computer broke down. HP said that because it was over warranty that it was no longer their concern, and to many people this would seem reasonable to assume, but that’s not the whole story. Let me turn you now to consumer #2. He purchased a Mac computer for his home, and a year after the warranty expired it. He called the company about it to see if anything could be done, and they REPLACED his old computer with a new one at no cost to him! I don’t remember if shipping charges applied. In short, if price is all you care about then HP will be a fine addition to your home or office, but Mac offers far greater protection to its customers. No matter what computer you decide to buy, do your homework, because every brand, make, and model has its strengths and weaknesses.

She thinks she may have finally cracked the connection problem!

May 28th, 2010 No comments

She thinks she may have finally cracked the connection problem. My friend was telling me today about her beautiful house. It’s stood there for over 100 years and it’s built to withstand everything. The walls downstairs the thicker than those upstairs and the internal walls are a good foot thick too. However it does mean that wireless connection around the house is somewhat of a difficulty. Skype calls taken sat at the top of the stairs started to become a thing of the norm. Long extension cables to USB fob receivers had too much interference, it seemed pathetic. Then she stumbled upon the ‘N’ grade Wireless USB Adapters. Most wireless systems work on ‘G’ as do most adaptors, but the ‘N’ transmitters and receivers send a stronger signal and can pick up weaker signals too. The price of a full upgrade to an ‘N’ grade system was just too great but a little Wireless N USB Adapter, complete with aerial is only just out of the pocket money range, if you search well. So now Skype calls come from her bed, 3 walls and one door away from the signal, which sits on the floor under a desk!

Zune MP3 Players

May 27th, 2010 No comments

Zune MP3 players are an effective alternative to those who don’t like Ipods. The Zune software is user friendly and accepts most every type of common music or video format. The players themselves are straight forward and durable. Many people are clumsy with electronics and tend to drop MP3 players or be rough with them, but luckily, Zune builds their products to withstand a decent amount of abuse (making them good for kids as well as adults). Smaller Zune players fit easily into your pocket and hold a large amount of music on their four gig drive; where as larger designs with bigger screens have more space for videos and presentations. Newer Zunes have been built to maintain a sleek and thin appearance while playing high quality videos on the larger screens, as ‘brick’ devices are a pain to carry around. Zune offers a store, also, where customers can buy music, videos, and podcasts.

What is the Best Handheld Gaming System?

May 27th, 2010 No comments

What is the best all around hand held gaming system? I would give the top score to the Playstation Portable. Released on May 11, 2004 the portable gaming system unveiled so much technology in one little device. Literally, you don’t even have to like video gaming to enjoy one of these gadgets. The PSP is a gaming system, movie device, music player, and a system that holds any type of software you could set your mind on. If you are like most, the only extra piece of hardware you need to purchase, as a memory stick. A memory stick gives you the ability to purchase anything you could dream off the Internet.

The New Ipad Ceases to Impress Me

May 26th, 2010 No comments

I think that it is great the lengths that technology has come to; and it seems that apple is at the front of the line. Their new iPad though ceases to impress me. The sheer size and bulkiness. I was just not all that excited about a new form of machine that i already had. Yes it is convenient and it is like a computer, but it just seems, like most new products, over priced and glitchy. Of course it will improve, but i just think that it is just a waste if you have a computer and a digital reading device. But people will buy, and i expect that a lot of people will return or they will just let it sit around. It is like the iPhone, a lot of people love it, but most of the people that bought it just for fun hate it and wished they had not spent the money, or wasted it for that matter. Kudos for trying to stimulate the economy though Apple!

Itouch Quickly Overshadows Other Apple Products

May 20th, 2010 No comments

One of the most handy and addictive gadgets before the ipad era is the itouch. This was the next step to owning a Ipod Nano, and one step away from iphone. For people like me, who did not necessarily want a iphone, the itouch was the perfect in-between gadget, to keep up with the times and still hold on to my old mobile phone which incidentally, I only use for calling and my alarm. The itouch quickly becomes a favourite, once you start exploring the number of apps available for download. Even if you were interested only in the free apps, there is a lot to choose from to keep you busy for quite some time. Its a must have for people just testing the waters of Apple products and the gaming buffs who love the accelerometer action.
